GEN AI Tools: Nano Banana Pro, Seedance 2.5 & Suno
For this film I decided to tackle my biggest AI enemy: location consistency. Most of the film happens in the same framing, while the location changes its look and everything slowly degrades, so it felt like the perfect challenge.
To fight it I created every prop of the setting, in the 4 life stages.

Did the same with the characters, because AI always works better when you make it guess less..
Then I went after the real problem: location consistency. I tried multiple ways in. First, over-detailed prompts. Didn't work. The framing and objects were never right. Then I re-prompted images over and over again. Also didn't work, and the images ended up extremely degraded. Then I tried every combination of references I could think of. Nope.
Until I looked back at the good old analogue way of working and drew a storyboard of each frame. It worked! The images were crisp! Who would've thought the most basic method would be the one to crack it? Finally, this felt like a proper workflow.
Biggest problem: halfway through making this one, Seedance released a better video model, which made me redo the entire film twice. The joys of living in the AI age! Also, don't put your actors in their underwear, as image and video models keep cancelling your prompts with NSFW warnings.
